Valerie Lovette McHam Morgan was born May 9, 1955 to Deacon James McCullough Jr. and Deaconess Levonia McHam McCullough. Valerie Morgan was called home on February 12, 2011 at WFU/ Baptist Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Frank McHam; maternal grandmother, Lucille McHam; her father, Deacon James McCullough Jr.; her uncle, Franklin McHam; and her aunt, Margaret Cason.
Valerie leaves behind to cherish her memories her mother Deaconess Levonia McHam McCullough of the home; her husband, Howard Morgan; her only son, Derrick Devaughn Morgan; her sisters, Evangelist Carolyn McCullough Jones (Larry), Janet Houston (Reginald), Belinda McCullough, Pamela Fitzgerald, and Tawanna Woods; her brothers, Michael McCullough (Barbara), James Anthony McCullough, Antonio Smith (Felice), and Jerry Baxter; along with a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. She also leaves behind her special and devoted friend Clifton Attucks; her devoted niece, Vickie Jones; a special friend Ty; and devoted uncles, Ronald McHam, Alex McCullough, and Kenneth McHam all of Winston Salem, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, February 19, 2011 at New Direction Movement Cathedral, 3300 Overdale Drive, with Pastor Essie McCullough officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the church, Interment will be held at 12noon Monday, February 21, 2011 in Salisbury National Cemetery.
