Valeria Cloud Johnson was born June 23, 1965 to Pauline and Emmitt Cloud. She gained her wings at 6:50pm on April 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Emmitt Scott Cloud; mother, Pauline Oliver Cloud; and her brothers, Dr. Lee Vernell Cloud and Emmitt Charles Cloud.
Valeria Cloud Johnson was affectionately known as "Lerie" or "V". You immediately felt her love by seeing her big, beautiful smile and loving eyes. She was always ready and willing to be of service in any way she could.
She was baptized into Christ at an early age. Throughout her life she has served in many capacities such as a Sunday school teacher and a #Sunshine committee member.
Outside of church she continued to give in the community. Valeria was a giver. For many years she took time out of her busy schedule to read to children at Forest Park Elementary School.
Valeria attended East Forsyth High School. There she was involved in many programs such as the dance team. After graduating she attended East Carolina University. She graduated with a Bachelors in Business in 1985. Valeria was a diehard Pirate and always represented her Purple and Gold. She later got her Master of Business Administration from Gardner Webb University in 2006.
Valeria had a very rewarding and fulfilling professional career. She was a senior financial auditor for Novant Health's Internal Audit department and was respected and loved by all. She worked for Novant Health for over twenty years.
Valeria had a kind and gentle spirit and a smile that would lift up every room she entered. She was a loving wife and mother who was adored by her family and friends. Valeria loved to travel, take long walks, ride her Peloton, and most of all care for animals. She had a strong relationship with her children steadfast with an inseparable bond. She lived her life to ensure all felt loved, for that she will be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Tony W. Johnson of Clemmons, NC; her loving children, Joseph S. Ford of Alexandria, VA and Jessica L. Ford of Clemmons, NC; daughters-in-love, Alexia N. Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Johanna C. Johnson of Helsinki, Finland, and Sarah J. Johnson of Sacramento, CA; her sisters, Vanessa P. Cloud of Winston-Salem, NC and Velma C. Gorham of Lanham, MD (Walter L. Gorham); mother and father-in-law; nieces, Ashley N. Gorham of Lanham, MD, Jasmine C. Newton (Antonio Newton) of Falkland, NC and Sierra M. Gorham of Lanham, MD; great niece, Logan G. Newton; aunt, Francis Cloud of Winston-Salem, NC; God-daughters, Dionne Carelock, Santanya Mayfield and Tortia Mayfield; and a host of cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, April 15, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Carver Road Church of Christ with Brother Roy Izzard officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Church.
