Mr. Tyshawn Lawayne Gibbons, 37, of 3740 Moss Dr. passed away peacefully Monday, May 28, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Gibbons was born on October 13, 1974 in Paterson, NJ to the late Douglas Gibbons, Sr. and Jacqueline Bates. He was a member of The House of God, Holy Church Of The Living God, The Pillar and the Ground of the Truth, The House of Prayer for All People (Hebrew Pentecostal) where he served faithfully until his untimely death.

Mr. Gibbons was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Geneva Gibbons; and his grandmother, Marice Proctor.

Surviving are his wife, Keziah Zeigler Gibbons of the home; two stepsons, Sheldon Samuel, Jr. of Stormville, NY and Ka'Son Samuel of the home; a stepdaughter, Jyenazha White of Paterson, NJ; two brothers, Douglas (Sonserria Coates) Gibbons, Jr., of Detroit, MI and Jimmy (Chanikia) Colon of Jacksonville, FL; stepbrother, Jerome (Tanya) Curry of Paterson, NJ; two sisters, Aleisha Gibbons of Queens, NY and Samoy Colon of Manhattan, NY; stepsister, Jenny (Mike) Kearney of Paterson, NJ; two grandfathers, Marcel Proctor of Ashville, NC and Henry Gibbons of Glenn Height, TX; two special aunts, Charolette (Odis) Procter-Cobb and Lucille Smith; 16 nephews; 12 nieces; one very special cousin, Evan Proctor; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elect Lady Vanessa T. Martin of The House of God Church officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
