Tyrone Peter Galloway, Sr. passed peacefully from this life the morning of October 11, 2010 after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Tyrone was born and resided in Winston-Salem, NC. Tyrone was a professional painter during his career. His favorite past time was enjoyed by fishing and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Catherine Galloway, and two brothers Roosevelt Jr. and William Galloway.
Tyrone is survived by three children, Tyrone Galloway (Kelsey), Michelle G. Williams (Charles Bradley), and Catherine G. Morrison (Anthony); former wife, Ann Cole Galloway; eight grandchildren, Tyra and Trey Galloway, Maya Smith, Anthony Williams, Jr., Jamari Bradley, Josh, Anthony Jr., and Aneisha Morrison all of Winston-Salem, NC; two great grandchildren, Elexis Newell and Savannah Johnson. Tyrone is also survived by his brothers, Irvin and Christopher (Shay) of Graham, WA; two sisters, Christine (John) Barrier of Spanaway, WA and Barbara (Clarence) Stimpson of Livermore, CA; and one sister-in-law Ann Galloway of California.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Christopher Galloway officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove Church Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 pm – 1pm Saturday at the Chapel.
