Mr. Troy Lee Davis passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was a teacher and assistant principal at several schools in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. He was the former Principal and retired from Oak Hill School in High Point, NC.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Montana D. Davis of the home; a daughter, Tromona F. (William) McClain; two grandchildren, William "Mickey" McClain and Monica (Aaron) Dixon; a great granddaughter, Little Miss Aubrey Dixon all of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Gertrude Jackson of OH and Rheba (Chester) Ward of PA; a brother-in-law, Oliver (Wilma) Wheeler; a sister-in-law, Vonetta (Joseph) Brannon; three god- grandchildren, Solomon, Alicia, and Victoria Lartey; a special relative and caregiver, Mr. Alton Cannon all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church, 630 N. Patterson Ave. with Rev. Dr. Seth O. Lartey officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
