IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tony Curtis
Butterfield Williamson
October 6, 2024
Today, we gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man, Tony C. Butterfield. Born to Mr. and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Butterfield on November 19, 1961. As the youngest of eight siblings, Tony brought a unique spirit and energy to our family that will be dearly missed. He leaves behind his beloved sisters Linda, Lorraine, and Wanda Butterfield; and his brothers, Alfred, John, Don (Jan), and Mike (Tara) Butterfield. Together, they formed a bond that was unbreakable, a testament to the love and support that defined their family.
Tony was a proud father to five wonderful children: Turquoise Ross, Jordan Hauser, Tony Jr., Tiyani, and Taavi Butterfield. He cherished each of them deeply and was always there to offer guidance, support, and most importantly, love. Tony's legacy continues on through his children and then over into his 120 nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit and values.
Tony Butterfield was a God-fearing man and a loving family man. He spent the majority of his life running a successful construction business, where he was known not just for his work ethic but for his generous spirit. But before he took on this role, Tony displayed his creativity and flair by obtaining his cosmetology license and doing hair. This earlier passion showcased his versatility and commitment to pursuing what he loved, "helping others."
In our community, Tony was well-known and well-loved. His heart was as big as his smile, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. He believed in giving back, and his contributions have left a lasting impact on many lives. He truly embodied the essence of kindness and compassion, and his presence brought joy to those around him.
We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the pivotal role of Karen "Twin" Forest in Tony's life. As his long time best friend, Karen played an extraordinary role in caring for Tony, in his last years of life. Her love, appreciation, and unwavering support were a source of strength for him and even his family. The bond these two shared was a testament to true friendship, characterized by mutual respect and deep affection. Karen, we thank you dearly for being there for Tony, for honoring him with your love, and for being such an important part of his journey.
As we reflect on Tony's life today, let us remember the laughter and the lessons he shared with us. He had a way of making everyone feel special, of lifting spirits and brightening days. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us as we navigate life without him.
In honoring Tony, let us carry forward his legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. Let us find comfort in one another and in the countless memories we hold dear. And as Tony would always say, "Let's do it!" So dry your tears, put a smile on your faces, and let's celebrate his life by living ours to the fullest, just as he did.
