Tommy Pender, son of Bradley Pender, Sr. and Beulah Mae Crawford Pender, was born in W-S, NC on March 31, 1954.
He departed this life on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health surrounded by family.
He attended the local public schools and Winston-Salem State University where he majored in Computer Science. He served four years 1/78th FA 2nd AD in the US Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged. He was employed at Integon Corporation for 23 years where he became the 3rd Shift data center supervisor. On November 25, 1972, Tommy married the love of his life, Randon Blackmon. Tommy accepted Christ at the age of 12years old in Vacation Bible School. He took his Christian walk seriously and served in the capacity of an Usher, Sunday school teacher, and Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bradley Sr. and Beulah Pender; and siblings, Robert and Yvette Pender.
Tommy leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years Randon B. Pender; children; Travis (Ericka) Pender; Broddrick Pender, Jason (Kim) Pender all of W-S, NC, and Justin (Jurina) Pender of New Bern, NC; grandchildren, Dequan, Kiara, Kalynn, Jada, Travis, Jr., Treasure, Tre'Eric, Alexavier, Bryson, Janiya, Jurnee, Justis, Serenity, and Payton; great grandchildren; Kyle and Lila; one sister, Mae Della Fowler; brothers, Johnny (Frances) Pender, Vernal Pender, Sr. and Bradley (Jackie) Pender, Jr.; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Pender; god children, Shamora Ramseur, Jamie King, Mike (Dee) King, Jahid Ross, Enrico (Candice) Hunter, Lamont Young, Carl (Angelia) Russell, III, Ethan Corley, David Hodges, and NyAsia Cheeseboro; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Hash, Sr. officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Church. Interment will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
