Mr. Tommy Lee Hood, Jr. age 38 of Winston-Salem, NC departed this life on Thursday, September 24 ,2020 at his home. He was born on December 17, 1981 to Tommy Hood, Sr. (deceased) and Siberia Carter Hood.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ms. Louise Hood and Mr. Carroll Carter; and an aunt, Mrs. Lorene Shaw.

Tommy married Jacquay Wyatt in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2001. Two daughters were born from that union, Deja Denise and Aeja Marie Hood. He is also survived by a son Giovanni Adams/ mother Tenesia Adams; and a sister, Thomasena Hickman. Other survivors include his devoted mother, Siberia Carter Hood; grandmother, Mary Jeffries Carter; aunts, Ruth Kimbrough (Bobby, Sr.), Carolyn Butler (Norman), Iris Moss (Patrick, Sr.), Minister Nawatha Carter, Sylvia Carter-Goff, Joyce Carter, and Cheryl Timbers (George); uncle, Willie Shaw; devoted first cousins including, Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough, Jr.; a devoted friend, Debra Penn; friend of the family, Mr. Cornell Gwyn; a god sister, Angie Cunningham; god brother, Kenny McLeod; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tommy graduated from Carver High School in 2000, attended North Carolina Central University briefly, then enlisted in the United States Navy in 2000 where he was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Tommy served on the USS O'Kane where he completed two tours to Iraq; Tommy was then assigned to the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia before being discharged. He was employed with various agencies in his life and was a member of First Waughtown Baptist Church.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2020.
