Mr. Tommie Franklin Easter departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 7:34 pm at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born to West and Janie Bishop Easter on May 24, 1943.

Tommie graduated from Atkins High School in 1961. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to service. After his military service, Tommie had a longstanding career with RJR Archer Inc., where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

A passionate fan of basketball, baseball, and golf, Tommie found joy in both playing and watching these sports. He was a faithful member of St. Mark Baptist Church, where he served as the church clerk and trustee officer until his health began to decline.

Tommie was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Sadie Faison, Mildred Long, John Easter, Alice Douglas, Millndy Goode, Silas Goode, Walter Goode, and Robert West Goode.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Anne Easter, who was his steadfast companion throughout their long and happy marriage; his daughter, Arva Charles; his grandson, Antoine Charles, and Antoine's wife, Tracy; his sister, Hattie E. Fulwood; his brothers, Harold Easter and Leroy Easter; and his sister-in-law, Juanita Easter. Tommie also leaves behind many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and cherished friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness and generosity.

Above all, Tommie cherished his family, treasuring the moments spent with loved ones and embracing the role of mentor, confidant, and friend. His unwavering commitment to those close to him was evident in the warmth of his gatherings, the laughter shared, and the guidance he offered through both triumphs and trials. Tommie's life was a testament to the bonds of family, rooted in love and respect, and his legacy continues to echo through generations.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Mark Baptist Church, with family visitation from 12:30 pm until 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
