Obituary

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 6-8

"Blue" was born Timothy Bernard Shelton on July 19, 1957 and raised in High Point, NC by his parents James Edward Shelton, Sr. and Beatrice Jackson. He matriculated through the Guilford County Public School System where he played football and was well known for his tall and dark melanin skin tone as he adopted the name "Blue." He was a football sports fan and loved to be with family during special occasions or just when someone was cooking.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Johnny Shelton; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

On April 15, 2000 Timothy married his devoted and loving wife, Tracy Staley Shelton and they have been married for over 22 years and resided in Winston-Salem. In his declining health, Tracy through her commitment and piety to her husband ensured he was taken care of until his last breath. Timothy was a wonderful and respectful man of God who loved his family.

He left to cherish loving memories his wife, Tracy; mother, Beatrice Gibson (LT); his seven children, Bradford Williams of Oklahoma, Michelle Aughtry of Charlotte, NC, Timothy Antwan Brown (Liz), Tanya Aughtry, Shaneka Alexander Moore (Trafford), Allyson Shelton, and Vickie Gladden all of High Point, NC, April Griggs, Shawn Staley (Charity), and Nakiya Spear of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Edward Wiley Shelton of Washington, DC and Travis Lamont Shelton of High Point, NC; two sisters, Ella Shelton-Quick (Troy) and Oveter Shelton McLean both of High Point, NC; thirty two grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other loving family members.
