Mr. Timothy "Jazz" Mitchell, 53, died, Oct. 10, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Winston-Salem to Ella M. Speaks.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Lynn Wisley; and nephew, Calvin Mitchell.
He is survived by his mother, Ella M. Speaks of Yadkinville, NC; daughter, Jasmine and son, Desmond Mitchell of the home; two granddaughters, Zarianna Blyther and Zalazhia Webb; his children's mother, Paula Lampkins of W-S, NC; sisters, Veronica (Jeff) Speaks and Jacqueline (Joey) Vereen of Yadkinville, NC, and Lydia (Henry) Johnson of Dobson, NC; brother, Jonathan Cross of Tabor City, NC; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and longtime friends, Richard Johnson, Alvin Cheeks, Ronnie (Johnnie Mae) McLaughlin, Johnny Gee, Jimmy Leggett and Robert Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2pm on Wednesday at the Chapel.
