Mrs. Thomasina Holmes, loving & devoted mother and friend, gained her wings on April 14, 2019.  Mrs. Holmes was born January 5, 1923 on Bailey Street in Old Salem, NC to Mr. Evans Johnson and Mrs. Naomi Holder Johnson.

She was a retired employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and was educated in the Forsyth County Public Schools.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Crutchfield Holmes; son, James "Greg" Gregory; and her sister, Thelma Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted daughter, Roslyn Holmes Martin; son, Terry L. (Esther) Jones; five grandchildren, Ray, Rodric, and Reginald Jones, Joyce Poindexter, and Freddie Alford; nephews, Thomas Jones and Jackie Wayne Jones; niece, Carolyn Gibbs; sister-in-law, Mary Holmes; and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family and devoted friends, Barbara Carson and Vivian Burke.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vern Summers officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
