Thomas Wilborn, Jr. was born June 7, 1949 to Thomas Henry Wilborn and Dora Hampton Wilborn.  He was one of eleven children.  He was of the Baptist faith, educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System, and retired from Salem Academy & College after 35 years of service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; one brother; one niece; one nephew; and one brother-in-law.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sarah Jane Sales Wilborn and three children, Stephania (Dewon) Wilborn, Thomas L. (Maria) Wilborn, and Curtis (Kiela "Lil Mama") Wilborn all of the city; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his siblings, Nancy (Curtis) Wilkes  of the city, Kenneth Wilborn of Atlanta, GA, Steve Wilborn of Richmond, VA, Kent (Delores) Wilborn of Gastonia, NC, Gay Lynn Earl, Shelia Wilborn, and Beverly Knight all of the city; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and more.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, April 27, 2018 in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 12:20pm on Friday at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
