Obituary
Mr. Thomas Pitts, 85, of 4137 Rosa St., Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Stitch Center. He was born to Harvey Pitts, Sr. and Janie Kellum Pitts on March 16, 1923 in St. Matthews, SC.
He was a veteran of the US Navy and a retired employee of Cox & Evans Construction Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, friend, and confidant, Juanita H. Pitts; a son, Thomas Tillman and wife, of Hopkins, SC; sister, Evelyn Robinson of St. Matthews, SC; two favorite nephews Robert Pitts (Sandra) and Isaac; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, Howard and Alice Williamson, Mrs. Lena Chandler and family, and Willie and Shaynce Turner of Winston-Salem, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Smith of Mars Hill Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. Family visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 12:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
