Deacon Thomas Lee Oliver entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Thomas was born to the late Willie Thomas Oliver and the late Elizabeth Wynecoff Oliver on May 2, 1944, in Clemmons, NC.
He graduated from Carver High School in 1962 and attended Winston-Salem State University. After college, he worked several jobs including his father’s service station before retiring from the Forsyth County Environmental Health Department after 25 years.
Thomas was a faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for over 30 years. He attended Sunday School faithfully, and was an active member of the male chorus, marriage covenant ministry, and the men's action fellowship. He has also served as VBS Director, an armor bearer, spiritual leader of The Tribe of Judah ministry, and spiritual advisor for the deaconess and missionary ministries.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willie J. Oliver; and several other family members.
Left to cherish many memories are his wife of 45 years, Karen S. Oliver; two daughters, Toni and LaTasha Oliver; brother, Edward Oliver; three aunts, Faye Williams, Juanita Wilson, and Bobbie Thomas; and a host of extended family, Godchildren, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Piney Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Sunday at the Church.
