Obituary

Thomas Preston Fulton, Sr. transitioned into spiritual rest on January 27, 2010. He was born on July 27, 1927 to David and Eleanor Fulton in Manning, SC. The family, which included his parents and two brothers, Roland and Herman, made their home in Winston-Salem, NC soon after his birth. This is where he graduated from the original Atkins High School in 1944, and then served in the U.S. Army and ultimately retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco, NC Baptist Hospital and WS/FCS.
He was raised in, what is now known as, St. Paul United Methodist Church, but later converted and became a member of Ephesus SDA Church where he served in numerous capacities, 1 of which was as 1st Elder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers; and his grandson, Christopher Harris
He worked a number of years in a number of areas so that he could provide for his devoted wife of 60 years, Mary Willis Fulton; as well as his 5 children, Thomas (Patricia) Fulton, Jr. of Hamilton, Bermuda, Delano Denise James of Winston-Salem, NC, Vera Regina (Pierce Charles) Harris of Miami, FL, Ronald (Denise Zaninelli) Fulton and Sonya Fulton of Winston-Salem, NC; his memories are cherished by his grandchildren, Dina (Bobby, Jr.) Goddard of Raleigh, NC, Micha James of Winston-Salem, NC, Courtenay Harris of Huntsville, AL, De'Ron Fulton of Winston-Salem, NC, Samone Tuff and Vernitra Yountz of Greensboro, NC, and Larry (Felicia) Jenkins, Sr. of Washington, DC; his great-grandchildren, Michai James of Winston-Salem, NC, Jordan and Sydney Tuff of Greensboro, NC, Tecora, Breon, Justice, Jovan, Larry, Jr. and Leah Jenkins of Washington, DC; extended family including his brother-in-law, William (Mary) Willis of Buffalo, NY; sisters-in-law, Rosa "Van" Small of Bronx, NY, Roseanna Fulton and Margaret Fulton of Winston-Salem, NC; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Interment will be held in Salisbury National Cemetery on Friday, February 5, 2010. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Church.
The family would like to thank the Healthcare Professionals at: FMC, Oak Forest Rehab, Gentiva Health, and Senior Services (specifically Meals on Wheels).
