Obituary

Minister Theresa Watters, affectionately known as "Gi Gi" and "T", transitioned from this life and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, following a brief illness.  She was born on February 1, 1949 to the late Joshua & Lucille Kinlaw in Baltimore, Maryland.  Minister Watters accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

Minister Watters graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore, MD and continued her education at Howard University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a minor in Economics. After she relocated to Winston-Salem, NC, she joined St. Peter's Church & World Outreach Center (SPWOC) in 1985.  She was a committed front-runner in several capacities as a Generation Leader, School of Leaders' Teacher, and Praise Team member, to name a few.

She has served on the NW Piedmont Workforce Development Board and the SPWOC Board of Directors.

In April 2011, after 36 years of dedicated service, Minister Watters retired from Siemens Corporation (Forsyth County) as Human Resource Manager. Nonetheless, Minister Watters came out of retirement and faithfully served as Pastoral Director of Volunteer Services at SPWOC.

Minister Watters leaves to celebrate her life and to cherish her memory her loving son, Bryan (Helen) Watters of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister, Shirley Herbert of Winston-Salem, NC; a brother, Theodore Kinlaw of Baltimore, MD; two precious grandchildren,  Bryan "LB" Watters, II and Bella Watters of Winston-Salem, NC; a nephew, Benjamin (Niccole) Herbert  of Baltimore, MD; special sisters:  Mary Francis Glenn,  Alexis Tennie, and Brenda Thompson; and a host of other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Tuesday at the Church.
