Theresa entered this world on June 6, 1965, the fourth child of Helen Allison Summers and the late Samuel W. Summers. On September 25, 2019, the Lord reached down, gently picked Theresa up from her sleep and placed her in His arms and carried her to her heavenly home.
Theresa, affectionately known as "Lil' Mama", was a beautiful, sweet, and loving person with a big heart. She cared deeply about people and was very concerned about their well-being. Theresa would give you the shirt off of her back if she thought you needed it. Theresa loved, loved, LOVED her family. She relished her position as "the Baby" and used it in her favor. She was extremely close to her family, especially her cousins, aunts and uncles.
Theresa was a 1983 graduate of Statesville Senior High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Beta Club. She continued her education at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem, Prior to becoming disabled, Theresa worked as a bank teller at First Union National Bank in Winston-Salem, NC, a Manager at Books a Million and Dollar Tree in Statesville, NC.
In addition to her father, Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Sydni Lashawn Meredith; her maternal grandparents, James and Mary Lee Allison, and her paternal grandparents, Booker and Clara Summers.
Theresa leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mother and caregiver, Helen Summers, who faithfully and selflessly cared for her during her lengthy illness; two sisters, Alesia Wallace (Lester) of Charlotte, NC and Victoria Hunter (Paul) of Stony Point, NC; two brothers, William Stevenson (Shirley) of Roaring River, NC and Michael Summers (Brenda) of Statesville, NC; one sister-cousin Loren Badgett of Charlotte, NC; one sister-friend, April Pratt of Pittsburg, PA; one godson, Jamar Derr of Charlotte, NC; forever friend, Larry Payne of High Point, NC; six aunts, Irene Steele (Dallas) and Jane Rose of Harmony, NC, Margaret Brown of Greensboro, NC, Bonita Allison, Carolyn Allison and Carla Allison all of Statesville, NC; three Uncles, James Allison (Sylvia), John Allison (Tammy) and Keith Allison all of Statesville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
