Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Koger, 89, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2025. He was born June 28, 1936 in Happy Hill Gardens of Winston Salem, NC to John Theodore Roosevelt Koger and Eva Mae Mitchell-Koger. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman and developed his artistic vision as a professional photographer. After serving in the Airforce, Mr. "Bo" Koger entered into the Masonic lodge and then became a 33rd degree Shriner. He was employed at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for 32 years as a Control Room Specialist, in addition to having his own carpentry and painting business. He enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. and playing golf and if you know "Bo" you know he loved spending quality time with his family and friends.
He was a faithful and dedicated member to Ministries of Truth Apostolic Church having served in several capacities including the deacon and missionary board under the leadership of his brother, Bishop William E. Koger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; oldest child, Larian Koger; and grandson, Tyree Koger.
Left to cherish his memories and carry his legacy are his children, Veldon Koger and Lisa Koger; step-daughter, Necole Fleming; grandchildren, Veldon D. Ray, Shereè Koger, Kiana Walker, Joe Fleming, and Xavier Ross; 9 great-grandchildren, De'Mari, Kalise, Kyon, Michael, Jr., Michai, Dalyla, Jaelyn, Kayleigh, and Theartis, Jr.; one sister, Rose Koger; one brother, Gene Koger; a host of numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
If he ever told you he loved you, he'd always say at the end "and my love has no expiration date on it". Mr. Theodore "Bo" Koger will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at The Shifting Place WS, 145 Alice St W-S, NC 27105 with Pastor William Koger officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
