Mrs. Thelma Lucia Thompson Carter was born in Clinton, SC and lived in Waxhaw and Charlotte, NC. Later she and her family relocated to Winston-Salem, NC approximately 56 years ago, living at 517 Hemingway Street.

Surviving relatives to cherish her memories are her children, Doris Carter Duckett (Al) of Walkertown, NC, Raymond Carter (Barbara) of Avon, IN, John and Brenda Carter of Winston-Salem, NC; two sisters, Lillie Massey of High Point, NC and Roberta Thompson of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 21, 2008 at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm Monday at the church.
