Obituary

II Timothy 4:6-7: "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have finish my course, I have kept the faith."


It was early Sunday morning, October 7, 2007 when Mr. Terry Lee Simpson finished his earthly journey and was summoned to be with the Lord from the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Terry was born May 30, 1955 to Howard Simpson and Elizabeth Holmes Simpson in Winston-Salem, NC. He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth county Schools and completed his education while serving four years in the United States Army. Terry obtained his Electrician Licenses from the United States Department of Engineering in 2005. Terry was employed at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in the Department of Engineering for 12 years. Terry was known as a handyman and carpenter by many.

He was a Baptist by his faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Terry leaves not to mourn but to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Mrs. Reola M. Simpson of the home; three sons, Terry, Jr., Alonzo, and Lorenzo all of Winston-Salem, NC; two stepsons, Charles Rinheart and Fredrick Turner both of Winston-Salem, NC; one stepdaughter, Herinatta Turner of Winston-Salem, NC; one loving and devoted brother, Thurmond (Verna) Simpson, Sr. of Winston-Salem, NC; one devoted sister, Beverly Johnson of Winston-Salem, NC; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a special friend and brother, Tim (Penny) Bowden of Walnut Cove, NC; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and admirers.

A homegoing celebration will be observed 12 Noon Thursday, October 11, 2007 from the White Rock Baptist Church, 1233 East `14th Street, Winston-Salem with Pastor Cedric Crawford officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 12 Noon on Thursday at the Church.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home staff for there services and dedication to the care and services that they rendered to Terry and out family.

The funeral cortege will assemble and leave from the home of Mr. Simpson, 120 Knott Street en route at 10 am.
