Mr. Terry L. Harris, Sr., 49, departed this life on Sunday morning, January 8, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 24, 1962 to the late Annette Jean Harris Jones and June Peterson.

Terry was employed as a cook for many years at several different restaurants in Winston-Salem including Darryl's, Cactus Jack, Village Tavern, and Full Moon Oyster Bar.
He was full of life and adored his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Julia (Antoine) Joyner, Lisa (Micheal) Adams, Terry L. Harris, Jr., and Adrianne (Kenneth Hayes, Jr.)Harris; devoted former spouse, Debra Wilson; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Calvin, Gerald (Pat), and Steven Harris; special cousins, Brenda Anderson and Urica Johnson; special God-children, Charlene Russell and Guy Graham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Cutler officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Forsyth Regional Cancer Center and Dr. Eugene Paschold and the 9th Floor West Tower nurses especially Chia Lee for the exceptional care that Terry received.
