Mr. Terrance "Terry" Maurice Bell, 47, son of the late Robert Louis and Rebecca Susan Bell, was born on October 5, 1970, in Cincinnati, OH. He transitioned to Glory surrounded by his loved ones on April 6, 2018 at Columbus Center for Human Services.
Terry was baptized at Assumption Catholic Church in Cincinnati, OH where he served as an Altar Server and was a faithful member of St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center in Winston Salem, NC for over 10 years. At St. Peter's, he served as an usher and sang on the Men's Choir. He loved God and loved to praise His name. Terry was a gift of life, a ray of sunshine and a genuine pure soul. With his infectious smile and warm hugs, Terry left a lasting impression of Love on everyone that he came in contact with. He had a distinct way of making you feel special. He loved music, dancing, singing, his family and most of all he loved his 'mama". They were inseparable until she passed in 2010 and are now reunited.
Terry began his education at Fairfax School for the Developmentally Disabled, Cincinnati, OH where he graduated in May 1992. He continued his education taking classes at Forsyth Technical Community College, Winston Salem, NC through Goodwill Industries. He often said that he was "A College Man".
Terry worked at McDonalds and The IRS in Cincinnati, OH and recently at Harris Teeter in Clemmons, NC.
He frequently competed in both the OH and NC Special Olympics where he was a medalist. He attended The Enrichment Center of Winston Salem, NC and was a member of the EC Stars Cheerleading Competition Team where they were awarded 1 st Place.
Those left to cherish his memory include three brothers, Lawrence E. Bell, Robert L. Bell Jr. (Cathy), Timothy W. Bell (Donyea); six sisters, Wanda A. Robins, Denise A. Samyn (Filiep), Theresa Osei (Charles), Maria B. Johnson, Tracey Y. Bell, and (Adwubi) Angela B. (Kwame) Oduroofrikyi; two uncles, James E. Spaulding (Grace) and William B. Spalding; two Aunts, Ann Ray and Fannye Wickley (Edward); 14 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Psalm 37:11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.
The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Terry's memory to: The Enrichment Center; 1006 S. Marshall St., Winston-Salem NC 27101.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center with Bishop JC Hash, officiating and Tim Bell, eulogist. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory, Clemmons, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Friday at the Church.
