Teresa Y. Williams, 54, a loving sister and aunt, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 with her family present during her journey to be with the Lord. She was born on March 19, 1957 in Florence County, SC to Samuel Ashton and Angeline Williams. Teresa was affectionately known as "Bonnie" or "Tee".
Teresa was a graduate of Reynolds High School and Winston-Salem State University. She retired from the City of Winston-Salem in 2009 after 32 years of service. She touched the lives of many people, empowering them as she was actively involved in the community. She was a hardworking and faithful member of First Baptist Church-Highland Avenue.
She was preceded in death by her father in June 2003.
She is survived by her mother; sister, Frances Williams (Robert) Holly; nephews, LaShontae Williams and Marcus Bowen; great-nieces, Whitney, Caitlynn Brittany, and Amaya Bowen; great-nephews, Kevin and LaShontae Williams, Jr. all of Winston-Salem, NC; many loving cousins and devoted friends.
Funeral services for Teresa will be held at 11am Saturday, July 16, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 700 Highland Ave. W-S, NC 27101 with Reverend Dr. Darryl W. Aaron officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10am until 11am on Saturday at the Church.
