On Thursday, November 26, 2020, God reached down to earth and picked a beautiful rose for his heavenly garden, Ms. Teresa Diane Coleman. She was born in Basketville, VA and was the daughter of Joe Coleman and Thelma Merritt. Teresa was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of West Forsyth High School. One of Teresa's favorite things to do was watch NFL football, she was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Teresa was a dedicated employee of Morrison's at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Marie Coleman; and her brother, Calvin Merritt.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her devoted sister, Thelma Yvonne Merritt of Winston-Salem, NC; brother, Larry Coleman of Jersey City, NJ; Godfather, Joseph (Barbara) Campbell; cousins who grew up with her as brothers and sister, Charles (Lorraine), Bobby (Debbie), Melvin (Alice), Wayne (Celestine) Gregory, and Eunice Saunders of Chester and South Hill, VA, Joseph L. (Sharon) Smith of Spencer, NC; the Hardy and Merritt Families; extended family, her second mother, Carolyn Bowen of High Point, NC, Deborah Johnson, Sadie McCullough, Sherika Fisher, Pam Steele, Kathy Woodward, and Vanessa Carter all of Winston-Salem, NC, Yvette Brown of Grayson, GA, The Boulware, Goodman, Mattie Young, and Jackie White Families of Winston-Salem, NC; and many other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
