Mrs. Teresa Ann Dearmon Canty, affectionately known as "Hookie," was born on October 22, 1960 to the late Jim and Rebecca Dearmon. She departed this life at Wake Forest Baptist Health on Thursday, December 22, 2011.

She graduated from Parkland High School. She was a CNA at Baptist Hospital. Teresa and Damon Canty were wed in Holy Matrimony in 1998. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was uplifted and inspired with their teachings.

She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her loss, her devoted husband, Damon; three sons, Gerald Equay Moore, Terrance Lee Moore (Charma), and Damon, Jr.; one sister, Gale Ridgill; one brother, Hilton Ray Dearmon; eight grandchildren; mother-in-law, Michelle Blackman; two sisters-in-law, Karen Stephen (Hercules) and Leighshaun Gooden (Richard); and a host of other family and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 30, 2011 at Union Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Friday at the Church.
