Teresa Brown's Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Mrs. Teresa B. Brown of Lewisville, NC departed this earthly life to meet her Heavenly Father on March 22, 2026, at the age of sixty-three years old.

Mrs. Brown was born on September 4, 1962 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Mr. Richard Brown and Ms. Bernice Smith (Dunlap). She was brought up by the late Mrs. Inez Fraizer Brown with the help of two aunts, Ms. Doris B. Jones and Ms. Delois B. Stephens. Mrs. Brown attended North Forsyth High School and graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 1984, then subsequently pursued a career in business administration. She married her high school sweetheart, Mr. Chauncey L. Brown on August 23, 1986. Mr. and Mrs. Brown began to build the foundation for their lives and legacy, and Mrs. Brown forsook her blossoming business career, without regrets, to become a stay at home mom to her two daughters for twelve beautiful years.

She was a phenomenal stay at home mom, who led by example and taught lessons of love, resilience, empathy and service. She was a faithful member of Ishi Pentecostal Temple, and later, St. Peter’s World Outreach Center. Mrs. Brown was a strong proponent of the power of education, and after her daughters became older, Mrs. Brown pursued a career in teaching and obtained two Master’s Degrees focused on education from Salem College and later Appalachian State University. She was an enthusiastic, dynamic and impactful teacher with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System until she retired in 2021.

Mrs. Brown leaves behind a host of family, loved ones and friends: She was a devoted wife to Mr. Chauncey L. Brown for 39 years. She was an incredible and loving mother to Dr. Alexis Campbell (Dr. Cameron Campbell) and Ms. Madison Brown. She was the world’s best “Mimi” to her three beloved grandchildren, Cameron “Alex” Alexander II, Naomi Giselle, and Aaron David. She is additionally survived by an extensive family network; Ms. Bernice Dunlap, (Trina and Sean Sampson, Keith and Rosalyn Dunlap), Rev. Dr. Doris B. Jones, (Mark Jones), Ms. Delois B. Stephens (Bryant and Evelyn Stephens, Mona and Darrel Nevels, and the late Scott Stephens), Michael Thomas, Rodney and Rene’ Robinson, Ms. Cecil Brown (Tinika Brown), Mr. Rex and Karen Brown (Montise Brown), Ms. Charlotte Peterson, Mr. Christopher Carter (Chrishauna Carter), and a sincerely loved abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Brown will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and loving person, with a sweet spirit and unwavering faith in God.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, April 11, 2026 at St. Peter’s World Outreach Center. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Saturday at the Church.
