Friday, March 29, 2013 as family and friends gathered together with songs, hugs, and kisses, God's unchanging hands reached down from Heaven and picked up his daughter, whose earthly name was Tecora Hatten.
Tecora, the daughter of Lucy Webster and the late Earnest Hatten, was born May 30, 1948 in Anderson, SC. "Aunt T", as she was known by family, was a graduate of Atkins High School. She was employed by Bethlehem Child Care, until her health began to decline. Having found Christ at an early age, Tecora accepted him as her Lord and Savior. She was a devoted member of Phillips Chapel Baptist Church where she sang on the Gospel Choir.
Tecora was preceded in death by her loving brothers, Lonnie and Larry Hatten, to whom she was very close.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her loving mother, Lucy Webster; one loving sister, Carol McKoy (Lee Ronzer); one loving brother, Earnest Hatten; a dedicated and loving daughter, Sonya Fletcher; loving son, William Hatten; loving grandson, Christian Fletcher all of W-S, NC; also hold memories are her nieces, Monica Jones of Greensboro, NC, Delander McKoy and Denise McKoy both of W-S, NC, and Manyonga Leach of Raleigh, NC; nephews, Michael Cole (Connie) of W-S, NC and David Lennon Baltimore, MD; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Phillips Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Armstrong, Senior Pastor and Emertius Rev. Charles Leak officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
