Tazhae Woods was born on January 8, 2002, and sadly passed away on July 13, 2025. He was a shining light in the Winston-Salem, NC area. His spirit lives on through his loving family, including his devoted mother, Sandria Woods; and father, Anthony Fitzgerald Butler. Tazhae cherished his siblings: Jada Banks, Jazmyn Butler, ChaNiya Butler, Amiyah Butler, Anthony Butler, Jr., and Antwon Butler. He is also survived by his beloved grandparents, Thomas Woods, Robbie Davis, Miles "Randy" Hardy, and Debbie "Shirley" Smith; as well as his great-grandparents, Ernestine Woods and Delores Butler; and a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who held him dear.

Tazhae was known for his respectful and kind nature, paired with a lion-hearted spirit. He was a dynamic athlete and fierce competitor, dedicating much of his youth to sports. He began playing Pop Warner football at the age of six with the Pfafftown Packers and continued with the Forsyth County Broncos. Tazhae proudly represented Reagan High School for all four years, wearing the number 2 and making significant contributions on both offense and defense. After graduating, he pursued further ambitions in football at Iowa Western Community College, with hopes of transferring to a four-year college to continue his passion.

Tazhae's athleticism extended beyond football; he began his track career at the age of ten with the Tri-City Relays AAU Track Team. He excelled in track at Northwest Middle School and completed his memorable journey at Reagan High School, where he left a lasting legacy.

Though Tazhae's time with us was far too brief, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 12:00pm Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until  12:00pm on Thursday at the Church. Friends and family are encouraged to come together in honoring Tazhae's memory and the joy he brought into their lives.
