Ms. Tanya LaVerne Reid was born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 30, 1955 to the late Sylvester and Rosa Bell Reid. She transitioned to glory on November 12, 2012 after a short illness.

Tanya grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and was educated in the W-S Forsyth County School System. She was a graduate of West Forsyth High School, Class of '73 and also attended Forsyth Technical Community College.

Tanya was an employee of Gilbarco, Inc. Greensboro, NC. She previously worked for AT&T Technologies and Bell South.

She enjoyed co-workers, family, and friends. We often gathered for family events where she was the life of the party and we patiently waited on her broccoli casserole. She will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Brian L. Reid and Andre Omar Reid of the city; three loving sisters, Brenda J. Reid, Rhonda F. Reid, and Beverly (Howard) Claggett, all of the city; aunt, Ruth Williams; uncle, Thomas Winningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
