Tammy Denise Dunlap, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Dunlap and Velma Jeter Dunlap, was born January 28, 1966 in Winston-Salem, NC. She departed this life on September 4, 2017 at Winston-Salem Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She graduated from West Forsyth High School and attended North Carolina Central University and Winston-Salem State University. She was a substitute teacher at various schools in the Forsyth County School System and drove the Forsyth County School bus. She resided in Charlotte, NC for many years before her illness. She worked with special children. She was an avid reader and loved to write poetry.

Tammy leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Velma Jeter Dunlap; five sisters, Trina McWillis of Kansas City, KS, Tonja Dunlap, Terri Dunlap, Gina Williams, Moni Cannon; one brother, Derrick Thomas of Greenwood, SC; three aunts, Rovena Jeter, Juanita Cannady and Connie Lesaine; two uncles, Norman and Vernon Dunlap; one great aunt, Mrs. Ruby Boatwright of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle, Oscar Gist of Union, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special longtime friends, Mary Snow, Beverly Watkins and John Lash of Charlotte, NC; and special family friend of the family, Gloria Boston.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Wednesday at the Chapel.
