God called our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, Tamiko Austin, to rest after a brief illness on January 6, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Brooks; devoted step-father, John Norris; and one uncle.

She leaves to cherish her legacy her devoted husband, Richard Austin; mother, Carolyn Hymes; two children, Rashon Brooks and Sharie Freeman Ortiz; two brothers, Henry Kershaw and John Norris; three sisters, Margaret Norris, Trina Brooks, and Sabrina (Herman) Taylor; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, January 15, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at First Calvary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
