Obituary

Tamela McClain Williams was born on the 1 st of January 1968 in Newark, New Jersey, to parents Gloria Ann McClain-Hardin and Frank Kelly Jr, in care of Oliver Hardin Sr. She was educated in the Newark Public School System and went on to earn an associate's degree in Business. Early on in her career, with an adventurous spirit, Tamela took on a sales position where she traveled country-wide from New Jersey to California and various points in between. This job would give her the ability to understand and relate to people from various social and ethnic backgrounds, a skill she would carry with her for the rest of her life. Her most recent position prior to becoming a homemaker was as a mortgage underwriter with Capital Title Company in St. Louis, Missouri. However, her entrepreneurial spirit would never really allow her to stop working completely. She continued her own business ventures with TTM enterprises, a business and individual tax preparation service as well as Gloria Fashions. Much like her mother, Tamela was well known for sense of style and her prowess in the kitchen. Somewhat of a secret she also had quite the singing voice.

Tamela T. McClain Williams, graced this earth with her presence for 49 years, however she suddenly departed this life on March 16, 2017, in the town of Rural Hall, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Ann McClain-Hardin; and her father, Frank Kelly, Jr.

Tamela is survived by her husband, Marlon Williams of Rural Hall; her daughter, Shaunte Renee McClain of Saint Louis, Missouri; her son, Duron Nasir McClain of Jersey City, New Jersey; step-daughter Traqia; grandchildren, Davontae McClain and Antoinette McClain; three brothers, David E. McClain, Oliver Hardin, Jr., and Anton Kelly; two sisters, Sharonda McClain-Barrigher (Francis) and Yovertta Kelly-Patterson (James); paternal grandmother, Verneda Kelly-Roundtree; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tamela was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, "FonFon", who dedicated herself to the Lord with great vigor. She was an extremely loyal friend and calming force for many. If ever in need of a kind word she was never in short supply. The world is better a place for her having dwelled on it, she is irreplaceable and will truly be missed.
