Our heavenly father, whom we love because he first loved us, returned for Mrs. Sylvia Gay Mills King, 48, on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015, while at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, NC after an extended illness.
She was born June 25, 1967 in Kenansville, NC the first child of Alvin J. Mills and Beatrice Kelly Mills. Sylvia and her father were blessed to share the same June 25th birthday.
Sylvia attended early public schooling in Charlotte, NC and was a member of Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church. She graduated from Freedom High School in Morganton, NC in 1985. She went on to further her education at Winston Salem State University where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Business.
She was employed with EMS Management and Consultant in Winston Salem, NC where she worked for 12 years.
She was a member of Saint Peters Church and World Outreach Center. She had only been a member for a short time, but she found a warm and loving spiritual family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her dedicated husband of 22 years, Caredio A. King Jr.; her son, Caredio A. King III of the home; her parents, Alvin and Beatrice Mills of Morganton, NC; one sister, Queen Calhoun (Lloyd) of Durham, NC; two brothers, Alvin J. Mills II and Pettis Mills (Melissa) both of Morganton, NC; maternal grandmother, Hazel Kelly of Kenansville, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Peters Church & World Outreach Center with Pastor Jayson Sloan officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
