Mr. Sylvester Lowery Sr., 84, peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, September 5, 2016. He was born in Winston-Salem, NC to John and Lucinda Lowery. He was married for sixty years to the love of his life, Gladys Lowery.

Mr. Lowery was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Lowery; his parents, brother, sister, and his daughter.

To that union, surviving are their children, Calvin Morrison (Sandra), Arneita Hairston (Raiford), Sylvester Jr., Keith (Mozella), Linda and Carolyn; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of the love, legacy and life of Mr. Lowery will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel, 822 Carl Russell Avenue, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27101. Interment will follow in Crown Memorial Park, Pineville, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Chapel.
