Mr. Sylvester Douglas, also known as "Bubba" was born November 19, 1940 and departed this life on Friday, July 16, 2010 at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, GA after an extended illness. He was a member of the Atkins Class of 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Douglas Cason.
He is survived by a loving daughter, Melanie D. (Kenji) Leonard of Birmingham, AL; former wife, Marva Douglas of Birmingham, AL; three sisters, Vernie Shaw, Minnie Simmons, and Nancy Douglas Carpenter all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery. The family viewing will be held from 7pm until 8pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
