Obituary

Susie Mae Scarborough Jackson was born in Bethune, SC on July 13, 1940 to Robert and Mamie Scarborough.  Susie Jackson departed this early home on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Susie was a student of Kershaw County Schools. She had a love for God, her husband and her family. She was an avid Homemaker.  At a young age, she fell in love with the man of her dreams, Tommy Walter Jackson Sr. and they married on June 24, 1956. She faithfully loved and adored him through 62 years of marriage. Upon marriage they moved to Winston Salem, NC and began to raise a family of nine wonderful children. She became an upstanding and faithful member of St Stephen Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. As a member of St. Stephen's, she served in the capacity of The Missionary Circle, Deaconess, and a member of several of the choirs. She had a special love for her church.
Many times you could find Susie with her family, out eating, shopping or decorating her home. She had an infectious smile and warm embracing spirit. She loved to laugh and have fun.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mamie Scarborough; husband, Tommy Walter Jackson, Sr.; sons, Anthony and Maurice Jackson; daughter, Kimberly Jackson; four brothers, Dorsey, George, Robert, and James Scarborough; and two sisters, Grace Henry and Catherine Hagler.
