Bishop Stephone Devon Samuels was born to the late William "Diamond" Boyce and the late Barbara Samuels Valentine. He was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System, and continued his education at Vintage Bible College in Biblical Studies.
Early in his youth, he was under the direction of Apostle Sylvester Davis Johnson of Macedonia "True" Vine Pentecostal Church where he served faithfully for many years. He received his calling from the Lord in July 1985 and quickly began working in various capacities in the ministry. Bishop then became an ordained Elder on June 14, 1991. Bishop later joined St. Peters World Outreach Center under the direction of Bishop J.C. Hash where he was being prepared for the great manifestation that would be the birth of Transformation Ministries.
Bishop Samuels was led to start Transformation Ministries at a hotel in Winston-Salem, NC in 2005. He was the presiding Bishop of Transformation Ministries for 18 years. Bishop Samuels was the Diocesan Bishop of the North Carolina District of Covenant of Hope International Assembly, where Bishop Jannette Vaughans is the presiding Bishop.
For 11 years, Bishop Samuels was a supervisor at Cook Medical, he was loved by his superiors & his staff, "He was the life of the party and he always had a joke". In his earlier years he was employed by Reynolds Tobacco company, The City of Winston-Salem, Forsyth County Public Library, and the Forsyth County Detention Center. Bishop Samuels performed services that were for the betterment of our community.
Bishop Samuels leaves to cherish his wife of 19 years Sandra Perrin Samuels; his Mother, Artenia Boyce; his children, Gloria (William) Price, Rashawn and Lamar Edmond, Stephone Samuels Jr., and Christiana Samuels; grandchildren, Malakhi Samuels, Cali Samuels, and Myracle Price; his siblings, Corvette (Author) Williamson, Alison (Mike) Westbrook, Aretha Glenn, Melissa (Derrick) Pettiford, and Monica Rice; a special friend, Mr. Kevin Redding; and a host of nieces, nephews, sister & brothers in law.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Macedonia Worship Center. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
