Stephen Wendell Speaks, born May 22, 1953, to Willie and Dorothy Speaks, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, after an extended period of illness.

Stephen was married 38 years to the love of his life, Betty Myers Speaks, and they have three wonderful children, Stephen Andre, Kelly Alexander (Jaleema), and Candace Ryan Speaks.
Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved father, Willie Speaks.

He is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Speaks; three siblings, Candace (Stephen) Dobson, Kevin (Haeng Sun) Speaks, and Kendra (Donald) Timberlake; devoted aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; in-laws; and a lifelong friend and brother, Kenneth Lee Turner.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, February 24, 2012 at St. Peter's Church & World Outreach Center, 3683 Old Lexington Rd. W-S, NC with Bishop J.C. Hash officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
