Obituary

Stephanie Janine Pitters was born August 4, 1983 in St. Louis, MO to Betty J. Jones and Stephen J. Pitters. She passed away March 8, 2014. For the past 30 years, Stephanie and her mom have been inseparable. The two of them loved each other dearly and this is something that was expressed by them almost daily!

Stephanie was loved so much by everyone who knew her. While we are so very sad to see her go, we take comfort in the fact that she is in God's loving arms.

Stephanie became a Christian at an early age and her relationship with God (as stated by Stephanie) is a "personal one." She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Stephanie started her educational pursuits in St. Louis, MO at Faith Academy and Hudson Elementary. Once moving to Alabama with her mom, she attended Greensboro West and completed her high school education by graduating Tuscaloosa Academy. Stephanie received her undergraduate degree in communication and graduate degree in education from Salem College. While attending Salem, she became an associate at Victoria Secret and continued her work with them until God called her home. Stephanie worked also as an educator in the Rowan County School System and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.

Stephanie leaves to cherish her memories her loving mom, Betty Jones; her aunts, Eliza, Clementine, Hurtline, Ira Nell, Hester, and Jackie; her uncles, Sonny, Bob, Tom, Roy, and Bernard; and a host of cousins, and many many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Reverend Kia Hood officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
