Stella Louise King was born on January 7, 1947 in Winston Salem, NC and passed on January 9, 2023. She was affectionately known as "Sista" and "Ms. Stella". She was the daughter of Margaret Miller and Willie Miller. She attended Atkins High School and worked as a housekeeper for Medical Park Hospital for 35+ years until her retirement. She had 3 wonderful friends who she talked to on a daily basis: Faye Brown, Marie Simmons, and Eva Gore. She loved fried chicken, watching lifetime and the ID channel, taking care of her plants, and shopping at thrift stores. She was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church up until her stroke a couple of years ago.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Sharon King, Kenneth King, and Steven King; and her brother, William Miller.

Stella is survived by her son, Marvin King; her grandchildren whom she adopted, Britney King and Domonique (DeNea) King; her devoted niece, Elizabeth Miller-Foreman; her sister, Virginia (Doug) Callahan; her brothers, Willie Miller, Jr. and Murray L. (Constance) Miller, Sr.;  her grandchildren Stephanie (Jeremy) James, Latece King and Rodney King; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
