On Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home in Winston Salem, NC the death angel came and lured the bright spirt of Stanley G. Garvey away to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow, pain, and death. Stanley was born on January 11, 1961 to George Oliver and Whelliemina Garvey of Christiansted St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.

Stanley was a hard-working, dedicated man who loved his family. He loved the beach, watching Clint Eastwood and other western movies on television in his leisure moments. He was a great cook and enjoyed cooking Cruzan food. Stanley was a prideful man who appreciated his Caribbean heritage. Electrical and HVAC work was his specialty and job trade of choice. Prior to his death, Stanley was a faithful member of the Spirit and Truth Worship Center in High Point, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Oliver; mother, Whelliemina Garvey; one brother, Berniel Garvey; one aunt, Ismay Bergan; and one brother in-law, Eugene Douglas.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memories one son, Marcus Garvey of Greensboro, NC; one daughter, Bianca Garvey of Winston Salem, NC; one grandson, Tristin Hairston of Winston Salem, NC; two step-daughters, Jenita Rawlins and Jeliyah Callender both of Greensboro, NC; five sisters, Viola Philbert (Cletus) of NC, Catherine Joseph (Anthony) of NC, Myrthlyn Charles (Roy) of LA, Alice Douglas of CA, and Rosina Boston (Jerald) of St, Martin, VI; 17 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.  Private services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
