Obituary
Sonja Ann McFarlin, 61, went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Sonja was born in Forsyth County on November 9, 1953 to William James McFarlin and Margaret Broome McFarlin.
Sonja was a devoted member of Greater Saint Matthew Baptist Church where she served as the Chairperson of the Missionary Circle and a teacher of the Spiritual Education Class.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Andre Denise McFarlin; and grandson, Rico Lee Johnson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Mrs. Margaret B. McFarlin; two sons, Topaz T. Autery and Leon J. Autery, Jr.; one daughter, Schanee' C. Autery; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reverend Theodus (Brenda) McFarlin and Marvin L. McFarlin; her best friend and sister, Johnnie Mae (Ronald) McLaughlin; one special niece and caregiver, Glenda (Anthony, Jr.) Dancy; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
At the request of Sonja, public graveside services will be held at 1pm Friday, December 12, 2014 in Evergreen Cemetery.
