Mr. Solomon Charles Lee Harry entered into eternal life on February 11, 2015. Affectionately known as "Charles", Solomon was born in W-S, NC on April 28, 1947, to the late Mildred Harry Solomon and Charlie Hope. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and friend.
Solomon attended WS/FC Schools and was a graduate of A.H. Anderson High School class of 1965. His love and talent for cooking lead him to work in the food industry for forty plus years. He was a chef at Staley's Steak House and later retired from WS/FC Schools Food Service.
He had a strong love for Christ, his family, and friends. Solomon was a former member of Progressive Apostolic Church in Winston-Salem, NC, where he served on the Deacon Board. He later joined United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in W-S.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Sarah Adams; two brothers, Bernard Harry and Larry Harry; nephew, Carl Bristow Jr.; and great niece, Little Miss Angel Wadelington.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and very devoted wife, Earline Harry; two sons, Solomon Harry Jr. of W-S, NC and Kenneth(Regina) Harry of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, LaKisha King and Lamara King of W-S, NC; three sisters, Virginia(James) Coleman, Carolyn(Steve) Solomon and Marian Gist all of W-S, NC; three brothers, Eddie Harry of Atlanta, GA, John Gist of W-S and Larry Gist of Detroit, MI; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one aunt Doris Harry of Charlotte, NC; five sisters-in-law, Sydney Harry, Rosa Thompson, Mattie McMillian, Shirley(Aaron) Hall and Gloria(Arthur) Hunder all of W-S; devoted cousins, Janice H. Freely of Charlotte, NC and Norma Miller of Minneapolis, MN; special and devoted friends Delafayette(Marie) Hoyle, Bonnie (Bobby) Henderson; devoted God son Jamoi Hodge and God daughter Candice Hodge, all of W-S; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
