Obituary
Smilie T. Wagner, Jr., 68, passed away on June 19, 2013, at Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. Wagner was born in Davidson County, NC, on May 2, 1945, to the late Bernice Wagner and Smilie Wagner Sr.
He served his country in the U.S. Army was a graduate of Davidson County Community College.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Wagner.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher Wagner, Smilie Wagner III (Kia), Randall Shea Wagner, Steven Wagner (Tiffany), and Darcele Eldridge; one daughter, Beverly Wagner; fourteen grandchildren; his sister Mollie Wagner Neal, Esq., of Canton, GA; his niece, Dr. Carla Neal-Haley (Dr. Leon L. Haley) of Smyrna, GA; longtime friend, Melinda Eldridge; devoted cousins, Helen Reynolds, Evelyn Cabbell (Elbert), David H. Wagner, II (Evelyn), and Fred A. Wagner; Godson, Gerald Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Praise Assembly Christian Center with Dr. Johnny York officiating. Burial will follow at 1pm in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family will received friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral services on Wednesday at the Church.
