Mrs. Shirley Ann Richardson Allen, 69, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on May 7, 1937, the daughter of Frances and Johnny Richardson. She was married to Jehu Hurbert Allen. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Carver Road Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, William Richardson and Hurbert Jay Allen; two brothers, Leroy Richardson and Johnny Richardson and a grandson, Jermaine Oakes.

She is survived by five sons, Haywood (Loretta) Allen, Reginald Allen, Nathaniel (Laschenda) Allen, Eddie D. Allen and Roger (Olivia) Allen; extended children, Gordon Barr, Angela Barr, Patricia Barr, Sharon Barr and Michael Barr; five sisters, Louise Nelson, Mae Frances (George) Jones, Evelyn Rice, Gloria (Bobby) Little and Shirley Alford all of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Bernard (Barbara) Richardson of Chicago, IL and Larry Richardson of Winston-Salem, NC; two uncles, the Reverend William T. (Rosa) Richardson of Charlotte, NC and George Richardson of Winston-Salem, NC; a longtime family friend, George Barr; 21 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Carver School Road Church of Christ with Elder Jefferson R. Caruthers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until 1 pm Friday at the church.
