Obituary
Shirley Blackmon Burns, 64, passed on November 3, 2012 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after an extended illness.
She was a graduate of Carver High School, NC A&T State University, and she also attended Bennett College. She retired as a Flight Attendant from US Airways.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving mother, Helen Blackmon.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Stephanie Burns; grandsons, Elijah and Andre; stepson, Torey Burns (Stephany); stepdaughter, Tomeka Warren of Charlotte, NC; three step-grandchildren; a devoted aunt and uncle, Fannie Williams (James) and Harry Smith (Tilley); her former husband, Thomas H. Burns and family; a devoted lifelong friend, Jerry Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 12noon Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Goler AME Zion Church, 630 N. Patterson Ave. W-S, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
