Sherry Paulette Wilson Horton was born January 14, 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC to James A. Wilson, Sr. and Christine Gray Wilson.  She began her eternal rest on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

Sherry was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.  She graduated with honors in 1963 from Atkins High School.  Sherry went on to further her education at North Carolina A&T University; obtaining a degree in Nursing.

She was a licensed registered nurse at Forsyth Hospital and retired with more than 30 years of service.

Sherry was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and until her health began to decline, was an active member.  She loved shopping with and for her only granddaughter Zoe and loved having her around.  Zoe was the bright light shining in Sherry's life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Kelly Horton.  Sherry was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Sweet memories of her will be cherished by her granddaughter, Zoe Horton (Mother, Stacey Smith} of Clemmons, NC; brother, James A. Wilson, Jr. (Olivia) of Charlotte, NC and Harold Dunovant (Mary) of Lithonia, GA whom she cherished like a second brother; niece, Kimberly Wilson Nieto (Craig) of Savannah, GA; nephew, Sean Dunovant (Chiquita) of Atlanta, GA; niece, Kallie Dunovant of Conyers, GA; aunt, Annie Pearl Wilson of  Winston-Salem, NC; very close great nieces, nephews and cousins, a very close and supportive friend of many years, Adeline "Tracy" Washington of Evans, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.

Private memorial services will be held Friday, October 9, 2020.
