Sherry Yvonne Wigfall was born May 12, 1949 in Winston-Salem, NC to Willie and Ruby Saunders Wigfall. She departed this life peacefully on her 76th birthday, May 12, 2025. She was a graduate of Atkins High School and was employed at Hanes Hosiery for many years before retirement. She was later employed part time by the City of Winston-Salem as a custodian at City Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ruby Wigfall; and a devoted dear friend, Constance Russell.

She is survived by her sister, Delores "Peaches" McGregor; her cousins, Willie Bailey of Winston-Salem, NC, Roslyn Allen, of Cary, NC, Rev. Alvin Saunders, of Dudley, NC, Elaine Hogue of Winston-Salem, NC, Emmanuel Mickens of Winston-Salem, NC and Schavonda Saunders of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted friends, Cedric Russell, Brenda Cain, Rita Jones, and Robert Brim; and a host of extended family members and other dear friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  Graveside services will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
