Sherita Stevens Cain was born March 31, 1981. She was the eldest of two children born to Pearle S. Whitfield and Sherman Whitfield of Goldsboro, NC. Sherita left her earthly life to enter into God's Kingdom on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Sherita graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in Goldsboro, NC. After High School, she furthered her education at Winston-Salem State University where she received her bachelor's degree. She also graduated from The University of Phoenix where she received her master's degree.
While at Winston Salem State University, Sherita was a part of the Ram's cheerleading squad. In January 2004, Sherita became a devoted member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
For over 11 years, Sherita was employed by Forsyth County Department of Social Services. She worked in the Greensboro and Winston-Salem areas. Sherita had many roles while working in her profession such as Specialized Services Program Manager and Division Director. Recently, Sherita has taken the position as the Senior Human Resources Consultant with the Forsyth County Government.
Sherita had a passion for traveling to different places and eating. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as spending time with her family and friends. Sherita was a very loving mother and exceptional wife.
Sherita was united in holy matrimony to Ocasio Lamont Cain of Winston-Salem, NC for 12 years. From this union, two children were born.
Sherita's beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Ocasio Cain; children, Bryana Cain and Cassidy Cain of the home; one brother, Dominic Whitfield of Goldsboro, NC; two grandmothers, Doris Stevens of Goldsboro, NC and Pearle M. Whitfield of Goldsboro, NC; one nephew, Malichi J. Felicano of Charlotte, NC; and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, October 25, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ivy Beyond The Wall Service will be held at 5:30pm Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
